Welcome to The Hopeful Partner

The Hopeful Partner is a weekly love-and-growth newsletter for anyone working on their relationship solo—whether your partner’s unsure, unavailable, or just not into the idea of couple’s therapy (yet).

Written by a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (that’s me!), this space offers down-to-earth tools, communication tips, and relatable advice-column-style Q&As to help you navigate connection with more clarity, courage, and heart.

It’s not therapy—but it is packed with insights you can use to invite connection, soften tension, and build something stronger from your side of the relationship.

Because sometimes it only takes one hopeful partner to start a shift in the relationship.

Where The Hopeful Partner Helps — and When More Support Might Be Needed

The Hopeful Partner offers tools for relationships that might have some cobwebs or patterns of disconnection but still have a foundation of respect.

Healthy relationships involve two people invested in building a “we,” even when it’s imperfect or focused on different aspects of the relationship. Underlying each person’s efforts, there’s a sense of connection. The tools shared here are meant to invite growth, not to override your nervous system or intuition, or to shift an abusive dynamic.

If you’re feeling unsafe, either physically or emotionally, here are resources that can help, and if you’re unsure, working directly with a mental health professional in therapy can help you explore your situation more deeply with the nuance it deserves.
